JJS Electronics extends its test engineering expertise with valuable new addition

JJS Electronics Ltd. has appointed Alf Bates to the post of Principal Test Engineer. The appointment is part of the continued expansion taking place at the company’s UK facility in Lutterworth, and places JJS in an even stronger position to meet the evolving requirements of its substantial customer base.

Alf joins JJS at an interesting time; the company is rapidly becoming the first choice EMS partner for OEMs thanks to its unique ability to combine the benefits of offshore manufacturing and the security of working with a UK company. As such, the addition of Alf’s extensive test engineering experience will help build on this established position as he takes charge of test design and implementation, in addition to delivering world class production test facilities and processes.

Alf, an engineering Graduate and trained to Six Sigma Black Belt level, brings with him over 25 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing. Backed by strong foundations, JJS’ latest recruit is highly experienced across a wide range of technology platforms and hardware – well equipping him for this new role.

JJS Engineering Manager, Russell Poppe, explains: “Alf will further enhance the JJS Engineering team by bringing a wealth of knowledge in test design and development, electronics, software, systems integration and lean manufacturing. This has been gained from many years of experience in the subcontract, military and aerospace electronics industries. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team and look forward Page 2 of 2 PR09 - Alf Bates March 2010 to delivering an even better service as a result to JJS customers in the UK and beyond.”
